First District Rep. Carol Shea-Porter attended more town hall meetings to heckle her predecessor, Rep. Jeb Bradley, than she has held since she defeated him. Bradley would come back from Washington most weekends just to interact with the people. Shea-Porter built the foundation of her congressional campaign attending those meetings, where she would heckle Bradley and mingle with other liberal activists.

When I look at all the (few)bills you've introduced/sponsored, I see nothing regarding energy. All I see is fluff. From your comments about energy solutions being vital to this country and her national security, I'd think you would have actually taken some type of action. But all you've done is vote. Not what I'd call a leader.

It's funny how Carol Shea-Porter and her Democratic colleagues didn't find this topic important before they left for their multi-week summer vacations. Now, back at home among their constituents, with the November elections looming on the horizon, they need to convince us that it was their idea to do this all along. Too bad it's much too little, much much too late.

Carol Shea-Porter and other democrats in Congress are lying once again - they voted for this farce of legislation simply for political cover for the November election. Most oil reserves in the outer continental shelf are within 50-miles of land and their legislation prohibits that deilling. Most states will not authorize drilling until they are allowed to receive a portion of the royalty that the oil companies pay the federal government and their legislation does not provide that.

Incredible! Releasing "a small amount" of strategic reserve oil will lower gas prices "immediately" but developing new supplies almost infinitely larger will not.

Can she spell N-U-C-L-E-A-R? Probably not.

Did anybody take note of how the Sweeney American Legion Post (Maple St) in Manchester, often rightly referred to as Manchester Dem Headquarters, is hosting political events for Carol Shea-Porter and has a sign on their front lawn for Betsi Devries, both in violation of State Laws regarding their Non-Profit status?

LEE -- A letter sent to U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-N.H., has prompted U.S. Capitol Police to investigate and a Lee man to undergo an emergency psychological evaluation.

Peter Macdonald sent Shea-Porter a letter two weeks ago titled "Killing is Obliged." Shea-Porter's staff called the police.

Macdonald was involuntarily admitted to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover and was determined not to be a threat to the congresswoman.

Dover police say no laws were broken and the letter did not contain a specific threat.

Far different than the John McCain Town Halls that I have attended in person, or those of Rudy Giuliani during the primary season. Far, far different than that of McCain's bloggers calls. If this is the best she's got, she'd better switch to another format.

In March, Shea-Porter had herself removed from a Frontline listing on the DCCC Web site. A DCCC spokesman said her listing had been "a clerical error."

"She's independent and wants to stay that way," Shea-Porter chief of staff Harry Gural said at the time.

But Shea-Porter campaign manager Pia Carusone said yesterday the 1st District freshman had always maintained that if the Republicans began running an expensive, negative campaign against her, she would reconsider.

- She said she would eliminate earmarks, she has not. - She said she would repeal No Child Left Behind, she has not. - She said she would only take money from good guys, and then accepted $2000 from John Murtha, a man with a number of transgressions on his record. - She said she supported greater transparency in govt, and then kept her leadership votes a secret. - She said education should not be used as a carrot for military service, and then voted more money for those programs. - She said she would answer citizen questions openly and honestly, and then decided to hide her own earmarks. - She said she would balance the budget, and then voted to increase spending and taxes. - She criticized the rules process in Congress, and has stood by and watched closed rule after closed rule without a peep. - She called for the resignation of Dennis Hastert, and has said nothing about William Jefferson and his transgressions - She said she would end the war in Iraq, and then voted to continue funding it.
