2008-NOV-11: Complaint of Peter Macdonald
Carol voted against the bailout... because it wasn't ENOUGH of a power grab! And is Bush the one calling for the money in this bill to go to groups like ACORN? Oh no, that would be Dodds. But let's call this mess the "Bush Bailout", give me a break!
How Carol operates: mendacity, manipulation, thuggishness and abuse of taxpayer money.
Check out the playlist from the Epping farce! More videos to come:
And a reminder: she fed the same medicine she won't take to Jeb Bradley See who funds Carol's campaign (Other than the taxpayers that is.)
2008-SEP-18: Carol postures on oil. First socialized medicine for our troops and now this. Why do we only hear this talk from her NOW? And why is she touting a mere vote for a bogus bill as an accomplishment?
The comments are more informative than the editorial. Some samples:
It's funny how Carol Shea-Porter and her Democratic colleagues didn't find this topic important before they left for their multi-week summer vacations. Now, back at home among their constituents, with the November elections looming on the horizon, they need to convince us that it was their idea to do this all along. Too bad it's much too little, much much too late.
Carol Shea-Porter and other democrats in Congress are lying once again - they voted for this farce of legislation simply for political cover for the November election. Most oil reserves in the outer continental shelf are within 50-miles of land and their legislation prohibits that deilling. Most states will not authorize drilling until they are allowed to receive a portion of the royalty that the oil companies pay the federal government and their legislation does not provide that. - Pat Spooner, Windham

Incredible! Releasing "a small amount" of strategic reserve oil will lower gas prices "immediately" but developing new supplies almost infinitely larger will not. Can she spell N-U-C-L-E-A-R? Probably not.
Thank God there's an election coming up.
2008-AUG-25 American legion post violates nonprofit status for Carol?
2008-JUL-18: Did Carol get a critic locked up? But anyway I would be remiss not to mention the strange case of US Marine Peter MacDonald.
LEE -- A letter sent to U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-N.H., has prompted U.S. Capitol Police to investigate and a Lee man to undergo an emergency psychological evaluation. Peter Macdonald sent Shea-Porter a letter two weeks ago titled "Killing is Obliged." Shea-Porter's staff called the police. Macdonald was involuntarily admitted to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover and was determined not to be a threat to the congresswoman. Dover police say no laws were broken and the letter did not contain a specific threat.
So much for supporting our troops. I've seen this guy's writings. He's no Francis Bacon but he doesn't seem any crazier than say for instance Chaz Proulx. I've had some veiled threats myself online from 'RD' at Merrimack Forums. And of course there's the famous case of Allison Scamman being bullied on the phone. Also Shea-Porter booster Chaz Proulx has called me up to swear at me and threaten to sic lawyers on me. In all fairness he did back off when I refused to show fear. Carol and her crowd do not seem to get this whole free speech thing. She keeps saying "we need to have a dialogue" but she does not seem to mean a dialogue in the Socratic sense. Judging from the way she handles her 'constituent events' I think she means dialogue in the movie script sense. 2008-JUL-16:
2008-JUN-16: Jane Aitken tells me that Carol declined an opportunity to debate the Republican candidates on the 20th in Dover. Let's see if this turns into a pattern. 2008-JUN-10 FLASH: Telephone Town Meeting! I just got the robo-dial call around 8:15 PM on June 10 that the telephone Town Meeting was starting. The canned message makes it clear that questions are being screened. I have Caller ID but nothing showed up for this call. There's no mention at all of this on her events site. No advance notice as far as I can see. So far it's the usual fake questions followed Carol pontificating on her usual campaign talking points. I presume this will be used later for campaign ads. UPDATE: pelhamgop tells me this is not out of the ordinary, except for the extremely self-serving content.
GraniteGrok has audio and more observations. He corroborates that is a political event, NOT a genuine constituent outreach.
2008-JUN-7: Shea-Porter ad takes credit for economic stimulus checks! Regardless of whether you think the stimulus checks are a good idea they're George W. Bush's idea, not Carol's. And she's a liar for trying to take the credit without ever acknowledging it was Bush's idea.
2008-JUN-3: Confirmed, farce coming up Saturday in Manchester: 2008-JUN-2: A whole slew of scripted 'town meetings' coming up! Crash `em! And to help you get in the mood watch her insult the troops and refuse to be questioned.
2008-MAY-17: Shea-Porter accepts DCCC money access "She's independent and wants to stay that way," Shea-Porter chief of staff Harry Gural said at the time. But Shea-Porter campaign manager Pia Carusone said yesterday the 1st District freshman had always maintained that if the Republicans began running an expensive, negative campaign against her, she would reconsider.
Recurring patterns: blame shifting, hypocrisy, mendacity (she was NEVER independent).
